Dog show extraordinaire

It's that time of year again! Crufts, the world's biggest dog show, stuns the NEC and surrounding countryside - not to mention the motorway system - with over 22,000 dogs and more than 150,000 visitors during its four days plus a pretty heavyweight agility programme, too.

New this year is the Kennel Club International Slalom Knock-out, with finalists invited from the British Open at the International Agility festival in Peterborough last August, together with all the old favourites including Starters and Novice, team finals, Crufts Singles, Eukanuba mini and midi events (that's what they still call them), the ever-entertaining ABC events and of course the Crufts Agility Championship (you'll need to have bought a Best in Show ticket to see the Championship finals though). All backed up by some pretty stunning agility from the cream of the Young Kennel Club competitors, rescue dog agility and the odd flyball event for those needing a snooze and a bit of peace and quiet.

Don't forget the agility demonstrations too on the KC Dog Activities stand in Hall 3 (not too far from the YKC) where you can also find out more about other activities including Obedience, Heelwork to Music, Working Trials, Field Trials and Bloodhound Trials. All in all it's almost worth the parking fees!

How Are you Getting to Crufts This Year?

With less then two months until the start of Crufts 2008, the Kennel Club and National Express have teamed up to create a host of great packages that will ensure this year's trip to the NEC is that much easier for visitors.

National Express has offered special coach services direct to Crufts, the world's biggest dog show, for several years now, but this year it is going one step further by introducing a dual scheme whereby you book your travel and entry ticket to the show at the same time.  These great packages include both coach travel and admission to Crufts and are guaranteed to save you money.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club spokesperson said, 'We are really pleased to be working with National Express again this year and delighted to be able to offer such cost cutting packages. Crufts is such a big event with over 150,000 visitors attending each year. We hope these new packages will make visitors' journeys easier.'

Crufts is being held at the NEC in Birmingham from 6-9 March 2008. To view more details about the event g
