Lucky dogs
The
fairy tale doesn't always end with the hero/heroine riding off into the sunset but these dogs
have been given another chance. We don't always know where they go, but when we do hear
anything, we will try to pass on the news. This month 4 dogs found new homes, many of them
going to agility homes so watch out them on the show circuit.
Dogs are featured in alphabetical
order.

Happy Ending:
Mekah went to her new home this weekend. Thank you so much for helping to find this girl
her forever home. Maybe one day she will be seen on the circuit. (28/02/10) |
MEKAH
History:
We do not have any history for Mekah.
She is currently in foster and has been assessed as having potential as an agility
or flyball dog.
Description: Mekah
needs an experienced owner who will give her the time, physical and mental stimulation
she needs. She is extremely loyal, loving and forms a strong bond with the person she
spends most of her time with, she will be best suited to someone who’s around most of the
day. She is very clever and becomes bored very quickly; she would make an excellent
agility/trials dog, as she loves new adventures and would enjoy the physical and mental
stimulus. She has an incredibly loving temperament, a typical Belgian sense of
humour - cheeky, wicked, and sometimes over enthusiastic, in
the nicest way! She loves other dogs, gets on well with children and enjoys training and
lots of exercise.

Happy Ending: Rosie no longer needs a home. (02/02/10) |
ROSIE
History:
Rosie is a very loving Border Collie with a good temperament. She used to live out on the
farm but since moving to a new farm has been unable to settle so have brought her back to
live in the house. Unfortunately our GSD is very dominant and bullies her. Having a one
year old child, I would hate our daughter to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and
get bitten.
Description: Rosie
is a very active dog. She is fast with it and she comes when called.
Rehoming
criteria: Would enjoy an active life and
some more training. Rosie isn't that good as a farm dog - think I spoilt her too much
as a puppy or so my husband says!

Happy Ending: To quote my son, who is 'Wolfwood,' Solo went
to an awesome home, though it was not agility based. We had Solo with us a long time. Any
prospective new owners were vetted and eventually, with the help of your website, the
right owners found us. He will have a wonderful life. The new owners travelled a long way
and stayed in the area overnight, spending hours with Solo before he went on his way. We
frequently keep contact with new owners and receive photos and reports, I'm sure they
will challenge him. (02/02/10) |
SOLO
History:
Solo was acquired
from the local dog pound at the beginning of July 2009 and has been on our
rehoming website since then. Although initially attracting
slight interest, the right home has not been found. Solo has been with us in kennels
since July. He relates well to everyone and everything. During his time with us he has
grown and put on some much needed weight.
Description:
Solo is a medium-sized dog who is light tan in colour. He is
a loving and intelligent dog. He is eager to learn, enjoys interaction, is very
observant, alert, highly strung and is very fast. A friend took him out on a six mile
run. The friend was shattered on return, but Solo would have gone again! He is a bundle
of energy waiting to be released and, although we love him and he is happy, kennels are
only temporary. He doesn't have a family to call his own and deserves to fulfil his
potential in the security and love of a permanent home. He will love agility training and
be a rewarding dog to adopt.
Rehoming
criteria:
Solo needs a safe home where new owners have the time to commit to him. He needs to be
physically and mentally challenged, not left alone for long hours. He deserves to be with
people and will make a brilliant and loyal companion for the right people.
