Lucky dogs
The
fairy tale doesn't always end with the hero/heroine riding off into the sunset but these dogs
have been given another chance. We don't always know where they go, but when we do hear
anything, we will try to pass on the news. This month seven dogs found new homes, many of them
going to agility homes so watch out them on the show circuit.
Dogs are featured in alphabetical
order.

Happy Ending: Jasper has been rehomed. |
JASPER
History:
We have had Jasper as a rescue from eight months old. The reason why we are rehoming him
is because he is scared of children, He has herding tendencies with young children and
has nipped my nephew. Jasper is brilliant with older children and adults, but
cannot cope with young children.
Description:
Jasper is a smooth-coated, black and white Collie. He has done
about 6 months of agility training and picked it up really well. He also tried flyball a
few times, but prefers agility. He is obedient and completely housetrained. He loves the
water, is good with other dogs and is great in the car. He does shadow chase but this is
improving all the time. This behaviour was inherited from a previous owner.
Rehoming criteria: We
would love Jasper to go to an experienced collie owner who would continue with his
agility training.

Madge has found a new home.
(13/10/10)
|
MADGE
History: Madge
has been a very well looked after as a pet in a family home with a young child. She is,
however, very demanding and keen to be doing something other than quiet walks around the
field.
Description:
She is ball crazy and will find and retrieve all day. This would be such an advantage as
an agility dog. All her basic training has been done, and we are now stepping that up.
She has also started agility training and she loves it.
Rehoming
criteria: A
home where Madge is an important part of daily life is essential. She can be nervous of
men so this must be worked through, but this girl could be fantastic in the right home.

Milo has gone to a
loving family home and is being spoilt rotten. (18/10/10) |
MILO
History:
Milo is a young working type cocker. He was bought as a
family pet. His mum is show Cocker and dad is a Working Cocker. We have had him from
seven weeks old.
Description:
Milo is the size of a Working Cocker, orange and white,
and always willing to learn. He is a loving, friendly dog who is very full of energy but
unfortunately we are a working family and don't have the time to help him burn it off. He
has no hang ups at all. He was assessed as a possible sniffer dog but was deemed too
submissive. He is great with other dogs and fantastic with children, although a little
bouncy around them. He is used to a kennel and is house trained.
Rehoming
criteria:
Milo
needs an active home where he will be given lots of physical and mental stimulation. He
would make a superb agility dog, not the sort of dog who likes a lazy life.

Happy Endings:
Pete and Mr. Tea have found loving working homes. They both went to agility homes - one
for fun while the other does some shows. Both
puppies are very worky so they should do well.
(15/10/10) |
PETE & MR TEA
History:
Pete
and Mr Tea came from a working farm that just did not want
them.
Description:
Pete
is a blue merle with a 1/2 black face & Mr Tea is a very dark
tri merle. They are both lovely puppies with lots to give. Both
puppies have some eye problems, they have seen a eye specialist, and they can see
100% out of one eye with some vision with the other. This does not stop them in any
way, they are fun boys with lots to give. They are both in a
foster home, with other dogs/cats/rabbits and kids. They are crate trained and just about
house trained. They both love to play and want to please.
Rehoming
criteria:
We
would love to see them happy with there own family, there only babies and should cope
very well with most things.

Happy Ending: Twist has now been homed to an agility home. (31/10/10) |
TWIST OF FATE OF VALGRAYS
History:
Twist was with a family who could not cope with his energy level. They loved him a great
deal, but he is definitely a busy boy.
Description:
Twist has a great nature and is 100% sound with everyone and anything. He was tried out
for film work by one of my friends but he was just a bit sensitive. Twist has lots of
tricks under his belt now and has a wonderful recall. He has played over some agility
equipment and boy, does this dog love it! Twist is going to be some top class agility dog
in the right hands, and I can see that in ABC he will reach stardom. He is quick, fast,
responsive and just loves everything. We cannot fault him one bit. If I was younger he
would be my dream dog.
Rehoming criteria:
We
are only considering a working agility home for Twist because he just loves a job to do.

Happy Ending:
Wiley has found a new home through another rescue centre. |
WILEY
History:
Wiley came into the Home as a stray so we do not have any history.
Description: Wiley
is a medium-sized, shorthaired dog. He is a fun, loveable, clever canine! Wiley will need
good mental and physical stimulation and would enjoy a home with owners who may perhaps
be interested in agility training as Wiley would love to have fun with his new owners
meeting new doggy pals, keeping fit and picking up some prizes along the way.
Rehoming
criteria: We
are seeking an experienced home in a semi rural/rural environment for Wiley in a multi
carer household. Wiley is not suitable to live with young
children due to the need for consistent training and control to be maintained. Wiley will
need to be the only dog in the household but would benefit from ongoing
socialising with other dogs and burn offs out on walks. Wiley
is currently being fostered.
