School for Paws DT
Self-employed agility trainer (Shrewsbury,
Shropshire)
Must have experience in teaching
agility. Our agility is aimed more for the pet dog owners to have fun. There are many
competition clubs around, but many pet dog owners find this intimidating. Therefore, we
believe we have captured the market for those who just want to come and along and enjoy an
activity with their dog. We are currently moving our location to a new establishment. This
establishment will be Shrewsbury's first professionally set up training school. The training
school will be a Victoria Stilwell Positively Training Centre. There will be a large outdoor
agility paddock with use of a smaller indoor training area for those bad weather
occasions. You will be self employed and must be working as a School For Paws trainer. You
will be provided with a tee-shirt and business cards. There are some clients already
enrolled. Saturdays will be required.
Class
Puppy Trainer
We also are looking for a Puppy Trainer for classes. These can run throughout the week and
Saturday is especially busy. As above, you will be part of the School For Paws team.

Kennel Club is looking for a team manager to manage its international agility teams for
the next three years, for competitions running from 2013 through to 2015. The Team
Manager should have agility training experience and ideally international agility
experience. Some experience of sports coaching is also desirable.
Team Great Britain
currently competes at both the FCI World Agility Championships and the European Open
Agility Championships. It is preferable to have one team manager for both events, however
different individuals could be appointed for each championship. The team manager would
not be able to compete in Championships for which they are team manager.
The individual must
have excellent communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively with
competition organisers and officials, and excellent organisational skills. They must have
the ability to work on their own initiative and to work effectively with other team
managers, team leaders, coaches and individual team members. The successful candidate
will be capable of building a support team that functions effectively in a pressurised
environment. The position will have administrative support from the Kennel Club and will
report to the International Agility Working Party at the Kennel Club.
The objective of
Team GB is to be in a position to win medals at every event at which it takes part and,
as a result, all team members need to be well prepared. The function of the management
team (team manager, coaching and support staff) is to work towards this objective and the
team manager’s role is key in meeting this objective.
The team manager
will be responsible for managing all aspects of the team for which they have
responsibility, including the selection days, team selection and the training plan. The
position has a small remuneration package plus reasonable expenses and the role requires
a commitment to a minimum of 10 days’ work per team event.
