Best features:
I am delighted with my Dog-Pod. It is sturdy but not
too heavy and it does not rattle when the car is in motion. Because it is made of wire,
the dogs have light. The door is easily opened but it is not flimsy.
I have a young family so the Dog-Pod allows me to
keep the dogs safe whilst the boot is stacked with the kids' gear.
Could be improved:
The dogs sit on a wire base. The
company, however, does advise you to buy an off-cut of carpet.
Quality of production:
It is brilliant quality. It even stood up to my puppy chewing it.
Instructions:
The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
Price:
Variable depending upon the size of car etc. Starts about £250 including
VAT.
Value for money:
Definitely a leader in its price range. I looked at lots of options
and this gave best value for money.
Overall rating:
Most definitely 10/10. Practical, made to my own specification and
my dogs love it.

Feedback...
From Jennifer Nunnery...
I also have a Hamster Basket dog pod. I have a
medium-sized cross and a WSD. Although my Dog Pod was second-hand via D for Dog website, it was
in perfect condition. Easy to put together, rattle free, it fitted my Scenic perfectly.
Because it has special wire fasteners for each section, it mean that I was even been able to
adapt it for my new car. All that was needed was a slight reshape to the top/sides, which
my brother kindly did with a pair of heavy duty wire cutters and then filed the sharp edges
with a rasp.
When I looked at buying a double dog crate,
even new, Hamster Baskets were the best value for money. I would recommend them. 24/06/10
From Susan Tindall...
I have
owned a dog pod for five years. It has two compartments for my Lagotto and Bedlington. The
made-to-measure aspect is great. I had mine made taller than needed so my Bedlington can look
out through the window when she wants to. I can thoroughly recommend it. I particularly love
that it is rattle free, has maximum airflow and has rear escape routes in each dog's
compartment if my car is hit from behind. I use a carpet piece cut to fit and a towel for the
dogs to lie on and I know they are comfortable and safe.
Hamster Baskets, the Dog Pod makers were very helpful
and good to deal with. I don't normally go out of my way to make a review but I have made an
exception for this excellent product. 20/03/10
