Best features:
I have been feeding BARF foods to my dogs
for more years than it has been called BARF. None of my dogs ever have ‘complete meal’ or
‘mixer.’ I don’t feel I need to try to ‘enhance’ their performances in the agility ring, just
mine.
I found the Landywoods raw meat products to be good
quality at reasonable prices. All meats are British reared and come from EEC regulated plants
in England. No animal derivatives, water, preservatives nor additives are used.
There is a wide choice of raw meats available.
Could be improved:
Would store better in the freezer if it was
packed in square sachets.
Design and packaging:
Meats products are available in individual,
clearly labelled 454gm (1lb) packets which are boxed in 36lb tray boxes.
Prices:
Various depending on the variety of meat. Price start at 22p per packet. Minimum order
£50. Delivery £2.50.
Delivery:
Regular door-to-door delivers to many parts of the UK. Also available
on-line from Agilty Warehouse.
Value for money:
Very good.
Overall rating:
9/10. Would get a 10 if the packaging was
better.
From Tracy Sowden...
I have been feeding my four dogs on Landywoods Pet Foods for just over a year now
and I am very impressed with them. The dogs used to be fed on another brand of frozen mince
products but I became unhappy with the quality of the beef mince - it seemed very fatty. A
friend recommended Landywoods and I haven't looked back. They even phone me up when they are
making a delivery to my area to see if I need anything. Like Helen, the only quibble I have is
with the packaging. It would be much better if it was square! I could fit more into the
freezers then. (12/06/06)
From Christine Short...
I am lucky enough to live a couple of miles from
Landywoods and call in on my way to the supermarket. Janet and her staff are so helpful and
they don't mind how small my order is. I have been really really pleased with the quality of
everything I have had from them and there is such variety. (13/06/06)

About the manufacturers...
Landywood Pet Foods is a family run business. They started producing raw meat products and
supplying natural biscuits for dogs and cats over seven years ago, initially for their
own use but then for friends and other people wishing to revert to a more natural way of
feeding. The company manufactures and distributes fresh and frozen British meats and natural
biscuits to customers in most parts of England and Wales.

the Reviewer
Helen Fletcher has worked her dogs
in Obedience for over 25 years with good success. She also shows her dogs successfully in the
breed ring, making up two champions including BOB at Crufts 1991. She has another youngster
waiting in the wings to be shown and he is now training to compete in agility too.
Helen has been ‘into’ agility for the last four and a
half years, winning out of Elementary and Starters.
During the day, she does dog walking for other people who
have to go out to work, and who feel happier if their dogs are getting some relief from the
boredom of staying at home. She also runs ‘pet dog’ training classes, where she concentrates on
control and fun rather than the rigid discipline of KC type obedience clubs.
