Better hydration for active dogsReviewed by: Lynne Ward
My experience: My young border collie, Waggerland Rookie, started competing at agility shows in March 2007. She puts a lot of effort into her training and competing and I was seriously worried about her dehydrating due to the amount of fluid she lost. Her tuggy toy was absolutely soaking wet by the time she had finished playing with it on the way to the ring and whilst queuing for our turn. Luckily I discovered Pow Wow Active at Crufts and decided to give it a try. Rookie has had a brilliant start to her agility career winning.
What I like: Rookie now has this after every run in the ring and after her training sessions. It helps her recover quickly and she absolutely loves the taste. In fact, she dashes back into the caravan and up to the fridge demanding the Pow Wow is put in her bowl. I’m so glad I discovered the benefits of Pow Wow Active for Rookie so I do not have to worry about her dehydrating any more. What could be improved: It’s hard to see how this product can be improved. In my experience, it does exactly what it promises on the bottle. Because of the taste, it is also excellent at encouraging dogs who don’t take on enough fluid to actually have a drink! Packaging & production: Pow Wow Active comes in a screw top plastic 500ml bottle. It has a shelf life of 12 months. Instructions: Basically they just tell you to give some before and after exercise. I’ve always followed these guidelines without any problem and adjusted the quantity depending on how much I think the dogs need. Price: £21.48 for a case containing 12 x 500ml bottles. Delivery free in the UK. Available from Agility Warehouse Value for money: Yes. Because Pow Wow Active has been so beneficial for Rookie, we now give it to all our dogs after they have been competing. Overall rating: 10/10 Available on-line from
