Celebration Finals

Easter Celebration Connection and Advanced Power & Speed

The Easter Celebration Finals were born out of the desire to re-invest the profits made at the Easter Celebration show back into Agility. When Pedigree stopped sponsoring the Gamblers and Power & Speed events, the organisers saw this as in ideal opportunity to step in and save these much loved and very different events, continuing to run the  finals at The Agility Club Show - normally in the dark!

The Gamblers event was becoming a bit stale, with most people only entering just to train the contacts, so we came up with a new idea - '‘The Connection' where you could only attempt the contacts once. Initially we ran this event for Large dogs only but then two years ago we added the Medium and Small dogs. We have also moved the finals to the Dogs in Need week and are very grateful to DINAS for allowing us to run them there.

Qualifying events are held at various shows mainly in the South and East Anglia. The Easter Celebration weekend sponsors the rosettes and presents Tuff-Stuff leads which can be embroidered with your dog's for free for these  classes.

We are able to do all this because the Easter Celebration Weekend show is not run for a club or individuals trying to make money. Moreover, it is run by a group of dedicated people just to have a show to go to at Easter. It has to be said that without the help and support of most of the clubs - KC and private - in the South and surrounding areas who willingly supply ring parties, we would struggle to keep this event going. Special mention here to Mid-Downs and Tunbridge Wells who also help with licence and equipment.

We hope that competitors enjoy running in these events and, although formats may change, we intend to keep sponsoring these events for as  long as funds allow.

The Finals
The Celebration finals were held on a very wet Thursday afternoon at Dogs in Need. The event was judged by Alan Stiff and scrimed by Michael Crisp. Course walking was done in the dry and then the heavens opened. Well done to all who competed and to Alan for making it a final to remember.
